That dark evening’s memory
Is still in my mind,
But the answer to that mystery,
I am still to find.
I remember that pretty maiden
With her green sari wrapped around,
And in that Stormy weather,
Her long hair left unbound.
Her head was bowed down,
She was trembling with fear,
And as she narrated her tale,
Her gentle voice seemed familiar.
“I sacrificed my happiness for the sake of my children,
In return, I’ve received their painful burden,
I provided them with shelter and food to eat,
And worse than slaves, myself they did treat.”
I could see her burns,
And her skin so pale,
With moist eyes,
As she ended her tale.
I was left stunned,
When she looked at me,
For, in front of my eyes,
Mother Earth’s face, I could see!
She was the mother of every creature,
She was Mother Nature.
When, for my own mother, I care,
To hurt Mother Nature, how do I dare?
To see her suffer a million ills,
My weak heart, with terror fills.
Lets take a pledge to save Mother Earth,
And give her back, all that she is worth.

Beautiful words. Mother Nature goes on giving much to humans, while we go on destroying parts of her. This poem shows that beautifully well.

Humans deserve this come back, from Nature. Not all of us are completely to blame, but many of us are at least partly to blame for a variety of reasons. How we eat, travel, live …

All Mothers have suffered with different pains from their children but Mother Nature has suffered the most. May her penalty be swift to those who are ruining her fabric of the earth. Great blog Tisha !
